Trillian Messenger Removed From GooglePack?

Trillian Messenger Removed...Why?

Trillian Messenger Removed

As of this writing, Friday - July 13, Google has removed Trillian from its GooglePack offering. According to sources throughout the web, Google has not release a statement explaining why they ousted the popular messenger. Some IM pundits believe it is because Trillian does not interoperate with Google Talk. One thing for sure, Cerulean Studios will miss the marketing muscle of Google. Cerulean is working on a new version of their messenger called Trillian Astra. Our Trillian Messenger Team leave us with one comment on their blog:

"Trillian is no longer included in Google Pack. Our goals are seemingly no longer perfectly aligned* with those of Google. Their reasons for removing Trillian are their own and were not made available to us.

We harbor no ill-will towards them and wish them the best of luck; they’re going to need it."

Hmmm....I am glad they could part amicably. I definitely feel some pain from this departure. Oh well. As Diogenes Laertius says,"Nothing endures but change."

On to the next...
