Using A Photo Renamer To Sort Out The Pictures In Your Computer
In the "old days" when you wanted to sort out all of the photographs you had of your family that meant you had to go through boxes and envelopes of pictures that have been collected over months or years. Anymore, things are a little easier thanks to the help of computers that we can just load all of our photos into.
But that doesn't mean there aren't organizational issues that still arise. While taking the photos may be fine, organizing them later and having to rename photos for hours can be a less than enjoyable task on the back side.
In the camera – computer communication is one of the biggest problems, as they create their own names for files going into the system. That name is usually a series of numbers and letters. This is not helpful when you want to know what a picture is.
That means you end up looking through hundreds of pictures trying to find a handful of ones you want and where the computer put them in the system. But if you have a photo renamer program it would be much easier to change to file names that you understand.
How do you use it?
The first thing you're going to want to do is find all the pictures you want to change the names of and highlight the set of them. Let's use, for an example, all of last year's pictures from summer vacation. After the entire grouping of photos has been highlighted, you should be able to just make a few clicks to change all of their names to something like "Italy Summer Trip" to make them easy for you to spot. This is when you can sit back and relax while you allow the program to do its job of changing all the filenames into exactly what you want.
For serious photographers, sometimes it's not the subject of the photo but the details of the photographic account. This may mean they're more interested in the exposure or color profile of the photo and need a picture renamer program that will help them sort photos this way. Many times, all of these details of the photograph are actually saved with the photo file in tags you may not see. You should be able to use these tags to sort all of your pictures out if you are using the right program.
