Are You Sure You Fancy an Apple IPod? - You Might Like to Check out Archos MP3 Players First
When it comes to portable media devices these days there is one real undeniable leader in when it comes to marketplace share and unit sales, and that is the Apple iPod. That being said however, doesn't connote that it is the only iPod on the market that's respectable. There are a lot of distinctive alternatives to the Apple namebrand which are very equivalent in not only the features they provide but also in the quality they offer and the price. You can take the latest player from the Gen 5 line of Archos MP3 players as a prime example of this, as for the price and quality of the device it gets my highest vote. Not too long ago I picked up the 80 GB 605 WiFi model and I am so impressed with it that I am not the least bit depressed that I got rid of my iPod.
Archos MP3 players are separated from the rest of the pack by many things. Of course, the device plays music, and with 80GB of storage space, I've been able to load my entire collection onto the 605 Wifi with plenty of room to spare. With this unit you get quite a few assorted types of file support, including the.WMA protected or not, the .wav, and .mp3. It is a really nice feature because it means that I don't have to wait around for conversion software in order to download my songs. Features love this make it a much more versatile and convenient player than many other brands.
You get a bunch more than a simple music player with the Gen 5 line though. The Archos line of MP3 players has a very high quality 4.3 inch color touchscreen which is very just turned on with the touch of a finger or stylus that's included. This makes navigation through all of the distinctive menus very simple. The brilliant quality of the display makes it perfect for watching TV shows, streaming YouTube videos, or even watching movies. The picture is amazingly sharp and shows up clearly in lots of assorted lighting situations. I only shake my head and feel sorry for people who try to watch movies on the tiny iPod screen. The Archos MP3 player is a bunch better choice than the smaller iPod so there's no reason to put yourself through the misery of that situation.
A really cool thing about the Archos MP3 player that I don't have to be tied up to the notebook to handle all my contents. Because of the wifi connection, I'm able to download songs, movies, and other videos on the go. The Archos player also has the Opera Web browser included into it which makes it very easy to surf the net, check my e-mail, and do all of the gameplaying that I want wherever I'm at. This isn't something that's possible with many of the other players out there. With most of the other brands, you don't have the option of downloading on the go or making any updates until you are actually at a laptop.
If you're thinking about buying a portable media player, don't just follow the herd and purchase an high-priced iPod simply because of the brand name. Instead, I recommend giving Gen 5 Archos MP3 players a try. They are a lot more sophisticated technically and they have better prices than all of the rivalry. Getting the most for your dollars is what being an intelligent consumer is all about?
