This lightweight netbook, weighing in at just 2.95 pounds, is a great choice for the business traveler or anyone else who is already weighed down with gear. With a 160 GB hard drive and 1 GB RAM (expandable to 2 GB maximum) the Acer netbook notebook is ready to handle most business applications, including spreadsheets and word processing, right out of the box.
Features include a 10.1-inch WSVGA screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, providing sharp and clean video along with clear photo images. Two on-board stereo speakers powered by an integrated Microsoft DirectSound compatible audio sound card provide quality audio to partner with the quality video. Wireless 54g connectivity is integrated and operates on both B and G networks. To work on a wired LAN, an RJ-45 opening is available for 10/100 Fast Ethernet hookups. Since it's so small, you won't find a CD drive. Optional CD/DVD read and write drives can be connected through one of three USB ports. You can expand your available memory with a card reader that supports multiple formats including SD, Memory Sticks, MMC and RS-MMC Cards, and XD Picture Cards.
Microsoft Windows XP with SP3 and Home Edition comes already loaded on the netbook. Other included software programs are a recovery system by Acer, McAfee Internet Security Suite, Adobe Reader and a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007. The Acer Aspire One Netbook is 10.2 by 7.28 x 1.31 inches in size.
This netbook includes and uses a rechargeable 6-cell lithium-ion battery, providing up to five hours of use. An AC adapter and operating instructions are in the box. Acer supports the AOD 150-1165 netbook with a warranty for componants and labor for one year after it is bought.
